I've had such a lovely few days away with Elizabeth, Matt and ChaCha. They are in Port Douglas for a holiday and invited me to fly up with them for a long weekend. On Monday we drove up through the Daintree Rainforest to Cape Tribulation - some beautiful beaches along the way. We stopped for ice cream (sapote, wattle seed, mango and coconut) at the Daintree Ice Cream Factory - such beautiful gardens there where they grow the "flavours" for the ice cream and a large variety of teas.
While I was away I started some secret stitching and I finished it off last night. Feels good to be ahead of schedule for a change.
Last week Sarah sent me some photos of my Starry Orange Letter Day Quilt on her frame.
I picked it up from the post office today - it looks fantastic.
There has also been a little bit of machine embroidery happening for Jenni's friend.

Sarah has done a beautiful job on your quilt and I bet it was lovely to have a weekend away to see cha cha.
enjoy the rest of your week
The Daintree ice cream is amazing isn't it! Love your letter day quilt - I never would have thought of it in orange but it looks fantastic xxx
How do you trust your precious quilt with Australia Post!? I have had so many things lost in recent times, I would be on tenterhooks waiting for something so beautiful as your quilt to arrive safely! Love the orange! Happy binding!
Port Douglas is a lovely destination (no patchwork shop, but still very good!). Your new quilt looks fantastic, and I don't usually go for orange. Love having some binding to do.
can't beat a trip with your special people!
the batik in the border looks lovely and that orange delight is gorgeous!!!
it would be a great feeling stitching the binding on such a beaty.
