What's in the box?

Yesterday this arrived at our place. It's one of Jenni's birthday presents and is now well hidden awaiting The Big Day. Am a bit nervous about whether she'll really like it but it's been bought with a lot of love.

More Girls

Over the past few weeks during my lunchtimes I've been stitching some more "Truly Scrumptious " Girls - Miss Delish and Scarlett:

Gracie is next then it will be time to put the quilt together. "Girls Day Out" is my night-time stitching but this one is going very slowly - lots happening on the homefront at the moment and Wollongong Song and Dance Festival takes up most weekends in August/September.

In one week our gorgeous baby will be turning 21. Jenni decided she didn't want a party to celebrate this huge occasion; she would rather travel to Melbourne with my credit card to spend a few days shopping and having a great time. So, on Thursday night our family (7 of us) will be flying to Melbourne for 3 days. Looking forward to us all going away together.

On the actual birthday we will be having dinner at home with The Nannas along with Jenni's and our closest friends.

Ugly Duckling is now a Swan

Earlier this year Elizabeth and I went shopping at Material Obsession in Sydney. We came home with this unusual (for me) bundle of fabrics
These fabrics
were added to the bundle and this week I finished a Travel Quilt for Jenni (quilted on the [doover] frame) - I'll post a picture after her birthday. Leanne describes the Travel Quilt as "The perfect solution for using the fabrics you bought on a trip that don't blend in with your stash" - so true in this case. But, I have to admit, I'm really pleased with the overall look of the quilt and Elizabeth made excellent fabric choices because I can imagine Jenni choosing all of those fabrics for herself (for clothes or whatever).

Next quilt to sew up is Anni Downs "Happy Days" in these fabrics -

and I think I'll have enough leftover to make a smaller version of Janelle Wind's "Citrus Crush". I'm hoping I can find some pistachio or turquoise coloured jumbo ric-rac but don't like my chances. Two more quilts to quilt on the doover - am slowly feeling more competent.

Happy Birthday Peta

Our gorgeous, petal punk Peta had a birthday on Tuesday. We love her to bits (and so does Michael) and we're so happy Michael met her and brought her into our family.
