Singapore

I've been on a quick holiday to Singapore with my friend Lynell.  40 years ago she travelled to Singapore with about 30 other people - their first stop was Singapore, then Thailand and from Kathmandu they travelled by bus to London.  The trip took 3 months.  A reunion was planned in Singapore for last week and I went along to keep Lynell company.  In 1976 I met up with Lynell and other friends in London after they arrived and spent a few months meeting relatives, travelling around Europe and then sailing back to Australia.

I was last in Singapore in 1978.  Such a lovely city to visit, despite the humidity.  Every day my hair looked like I'd stuck my finger into an electric socket.

Ready for take-off
Gardens by the Bay - such a fabulous place to visit

All these red flowers are Lego
Light show at Super Tree Grove
 Marina Bay Sands

Flower Dome/Cloud Forest and Gardens by the Bay as seen from the viewing platform on top of Marina Bay Sands
High Tea at Raffles

First up a Singapore Sling

A bit of shopping in Arab Street - so many beautiful fabrics, beads, ribbons in this area.

On our last night we went on a bum boat ride on the river to see the light show at Marina Bay Sands - it was beautiful.

Looks like you had a great time Lynda! I'm guessing the humidity is a problem all-year round!
