Quilts for a Friend

A friend of mine is having difficulty sewing following a medical procedure and she asked me to make a couple of quilts.

She has a very extensive stash.  All of these fabrics are from her stash.

The first quilt is "End Game" designed by Tied with a Ribbon - this is a fantastic quilt to make using 8" equilateral triangles.

This is the size of the quilt made to the pattern dimensions.

She wanted the quilt to be bedspread size so very large, plain borders were added,

The backing is a fun piece (10m metres in her stash) from Riley Blake.

My friend wanted Orange Peel quilting and it looks great.  The green solid binding is terrific.

After I'd finished my friend's "End Game" I thought I needed to make one for myself and I used Tula Pink fabrics from the feature blocs and the binding.  The only fabric I bought was the stripe for the binding.

The second quilt is based on Sister's Choice blocks and is from a kit she bought from the Fat Quarter Shop in 2009.  The Bonnie and Camille solids are beautiful, especially the red.  Again, she wanted a bedspread size quilt and I was able to use the red provided for the blocks and binding to make enough red blocks and used the green provided for the blocks along with the backing fabric to make the green blocks.

She asked for Clamshells quilting on this one and it looks so lovely.  I found the red/white stripe in my stash to use for the binding and she bought the Liberty wideback.
