Edelweiss

 

This is a great quilt to make.  "Edelweiss" is designed by Camille Roskelley (Thimble Blossoms) and is made using her "Nantucket Summer" and "Shoreline" ranges with Moda Bella Solid Navy for the background.

Qulting on the Coast used "Modern Loops" this time - always loos wonderful.

The backing is from Thimble Blossoms' "Summertime" range.

More Cutting Out

Once again, my blogging is way behind.  Lots of sewing has been happening and a few quilt tops are finished - some have been quilted and some are waiting for backings to be made.

I've spent a fair bit of time cutting out and have a bagful of homemade "kits" ready to go.

Mainly I've been cutting up my blue and white stash of Thimble Blossoms' fabrics - "Nantucket Summer" and "Shoreline" as well as Tasha Noel's "Simply Country".

Vinnie and I went shopping for the backing and he chose this fantastic fabric.  He also wants a shirt in this.

Cutting Out

Lots of cutting out last week.

First up I cut up the remains of my "Lighthearted" fat quarter bundle into 2-1/2" squares

then went through my pink, red, aqua and white Bonnie and Camille scrap bags and cut more 2-1/2" squares.  I have enough to make Thimble Blossoms' "Takes the Cake".  The dimensions will be a little different as the original uses 2" cut squares.

Then I cut up lots of the Thimble Blossoms' "Shoreline" and "Nantucket Summer" fat quarter bundles leftovers to make another "Edelweiss" quilt, this time with a navy Moda Bella Solid background.

I think I'm finally up-to-date.

Karen used "Modern Loops" for the quilting.

Lighthearted Fabric

On 6 September 2023, my bundle of Thimble Blossoms' "Lighthearted" fabric arrived.  It is the prettiest fabric range she has designed in a long time.  I was very excited for this to finally be here.

I've cut out and sewn up three quilt tops:

I wasn't sure which fabric to use for the border and I was tickled pink when Camille got in touch to offer some advice.
