Hometown in Figtree Fabrics

I had an untouched fat quarter bundle on Figtree's "Jelly and Jam" and thought some of the prints would be very pretty in Thimble Blossoms "Hometown" quilt.

This quilt was started in April and finished in June.

Orange Peel quilting by Quilting on the Coast.

The backing and binding are from "Jelly and Jam".

Feel the Tide

Around 5 years ago I made some test blocks for Thimbles and Needles for her then new design "Feel the Tide".  I came across these blocks while making Master Plan so thought I might make more and put the quilt together.

I decided to add borders.

The binding is a stripe I found in my stash and it suits the quilt very well.

"Wind and Waves" quilting on this one.

Wish Upon a Star

Two colour quilts are always fun and this quilt was cut out in October last year, along with a few others.

The quilt is designed by Bonnie Olaveson, of Bonnie and Camille, and is made in Bonnie and Camille and Thimble Blossoms fabrics.  I've previously made two of this quilt design in red and white.

Started sewing the blocks in April.

The backing is from Thimble Blossoms "Rosemary Cottage" range and the binding is Moda Bella Solid Navy.

In June I met up with my Tassie friends for four days in Bendigo.  We had such a lovely time.  We visited the Bendigo quilt show and also went to the Bendigo Woollen Mills.

I bought a few balls of wool.  At the quilt show I bought a jelly roll, a kit and a few miscellaneous fat quarters.  I intended to use the Jelly Roll for Jelly Roll Day in September but it didn't happen (still trying to decide what to make).

The pink variegated Prism wool has been knitted into a Lichen Scarf and given to my cousin for her 70th birthday.

Master Plan

Last February I cut out "Master Plan" a design from Miss Rosie Quilt Co.  Carrie Nelson is one of my favourite quilt designers. 

In March I started making the block components.

And in June I had a completed quilt top (I also added borders).

I chose "Featheration" quilting - it's another "go to" design and always looks lovely.

I love black/white stripe binding.

The quilt is now in Saudi Arabia.

Economy Block Qult

When I was looking for something in my brights stash I came across some leftovers from a Tula Pink quilt I made some time ago as well as some lime green triangles that I'd cut incorrectly for another quilt.  HobbySew had just stocked the new Tula Pink range featuring African animals, so I bought a few pieces and I made Economy Blocks.

There was enough fabric left from my friend's quilt to make a backing and I used the Tula Pink stripe for the binding.

The quilt is now with one of Jenni's friends for her baby girl.
