Star Pop

"Star Pop" is designed by Quilty Love and definitely a fun quilt to make.  I used loads of low volume fabrics from Thimble Blossoms' "Nantucket Summer" and "Shoreline" ranges and Tasha Noel's "Simply Country" range.  The colours are so lovely.

Santa in the Trees

"Santa in the Trees" was sewn up last year and also finished in January this year.  It's a fun quilt.  I made it a lot larger than the pattern and it lays beautifully on the bed.

The cushion is also very cute.

I love this backing fabric ("Hustle and Bustle" by Basic Grey) and the candy stripe binding.

Happy Halloween

When I made the large "Happy Halloween" quilt for Hugo, I had plenty of fabric left over to make the smaller version.  I sewed up the quilt top in late 2025 and the quilt was finished in January.  The background is the purple in this photo.

The backing is a different purple.

Ruffles 'n' Rows

Last year I was selling off some of a dear friend's sewing stash and one of the kits was "Ruffles 'n' Rows" designed by Natalie Bird.  I was with Sharon when she bought the kit and, sadly, she is now living in a nursing home.  I made this quilt for her and was able to give it to her for Chritmas.

It's a fun design to make with lots of added extras on the rows.

I got a bee in my bonnet to cut out another "Master Plan" quilt (designed by Miss Rosie & Co) and I might get around to making it this year.  Such a great scrap buster.

And, I bought some more greens to make another "Santa in the Trees" which was finished in January.

Astra

I first made an "Astra" quilt as a customer order at the start of last year.  At the time I thought it would make a great quilt for a man and later last year made it for my brother for Christmas.  I love how it turned out with those colours against the navy background.

The backing is actually a dark blue wideback fabric and worked very well for this quilt.

Late last year I needed a baby quilt for a dear friend's new grandson.  My friend lives in UK and the baby lives in New Zealand.  I wanted to have the quilt arrive in New Zealand when my friend was vising baby William.  My friend has always loved Peter Rabbit so I was very pleased to find I still had some of the sweet Peter Rabbit blocks left from previous quilts

and some of the fabulous border print.

Christmas 2025

Christmas 2025 was a lot of fun.  I asked Vinnie to draw a picture for me to hang on the back of the front door - it was a big relief to know that the house was protected by The Hulk, Superman and Leonardo.

Each year the decorating doesn't change much.

Once again, not a lot of Christmas sewing.  I made Bronwyn Hayes "Christmas Hangers" for Thea and Gulli

and Hatched and Patched punch needle ornaments for Hugo, Vinnie and Daisy.

The two littlest sweethearts at Christmas - so precious.
