Rectangles Cot Quilt

The last stitches in the binding of this cot quilt went in last night.

The quilt top was made in August last year (inspired by a quilt I'd seen on Susan's blog) and Karen quilted it with clamshells (one of my favourite designs) a couple of weeks ago.  I made a few cot quilts with these colours last year.

Last week most of my sewing time was spent making a dress and Panda for ChaCha's first birthday.

The weekend was very busy with the birthday party in Sydney on Saturday and a baby shower yesterday afternoon.  I made another set of wardrobe organisers for my great niece due at the end of March - another great-grandchild for Mum.

Earlier in the week I finished adding the borders to Patchwork Swoon - I am really keen to make another one in Bonnie and Camille fabrics.

A parcel was delivered on Friday afternoon - I'd forgotten that I had ordered this Moda selvedge fabric from Sarah so it was a lovely surprise.  I love the "Little Ruby" mini charms.  The selvedge fabric will be great backing for a quilt in the future.

We have some relatives visiting from Holland and Canada - they're coming for dinner tonight along with some other cousins.  Should be a fun night - we have Tim Tam Cheesecake for sweets (not made by me).

Piccadilly Circus

"Piccadilly Circus" is a fun quilt designed by Camille Roskelley (Thimble Blossoms) and I've made it using fabric designed by Camille and her mother, Bonnie.  I loved making this quilt and also love the clamshell quilting Karen did for me.  On Friday evening I sewed on the binding ready to stitch down while watching the tennis final last night.

The last stitches went in just as Djokovic made the winning shot.

Today my sweet little ChaCha is one year old - we had our first FaceTime chat this morning - was so lovely to see her little face light up and start waving when she recognised me.  I'm making a couple of little extra things to add to her birthday present.

They should be finished in time for her party on Saturday.

Patchwork Swoon has been put aside till I finish off ChaCha's sewing.  The big sections are ready to sew together, then some borders to be added and it will be done.

On Saturday I went to a baby shower in Manly - such a lovely afternoon with family and friends.  I made a set of wardrobe organisers on the embroidery machine for the new baby (and his Mum).

I really like these and am sure I'll be making them again.
